Their bowlers had been exceptional earlier in the day in restricting New South Wales to 197, most especially Amy Smith, who recorded her first WNCL five-wicket haul. An outstanding catch by Anika Learoyd to to dismiss Lizelle Lee in the first over of the chase got New South Wales off to a dream start, before Elyse Villani and Nicola Carey counterattacked to put Tasmania in control. They fell in quick succession, along with Emma Manix-Geeves, amid a hostile spell from Maitlan Brown, before Naomi Stalenberg and Tabatha Saville combined for an outstanding 100-run partnership. Saville and Amy Smith fell near the end, but Stalenberg kept her cool to see Tasmania to a dominant win.
